Top 5 Star Wars Experiences at Disney World

Posted · Add Comment

We are serious Star Wars fans. One of the most awesome results of Disney buying the Star Wars franchise are all the new experiences in the parks. Star Tours is still a favorite, but even more stage shows, fireworks displays, character meet and greets, and fan movies are sprinkled throughout Hollywood Studios. Disney has recently announced their plans to build a separate Star Wars land within Hollywood Studios. So our list of the top 5 Star Wars experiences in Disney World will be outdated pretty soon after Disney kicks it into high gear and gives the greatest movie franchise it’s own land.

Join C3PO and R2D2 as you embark on a secret mission through the Galaxy. This 3D motion-simulated experience is a must for all Star Wars fans. There are 92 different story combinations (yes, a Cast Member shared this with us!) so each space flight is unique! Our favorite is when Darth Vader makes an appearance. You might also see BB8 and Finn from Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

  1. Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular

Now, if you like fireworks, you HAVE to see this Star Wars fireworks display! It is my favorite firework display in all of WDW. Spanning from Phantom Menace to The Force Awakens, this fireworks, lights, and video show is completely overwhelming. I’m getting goosebumps right now typing this. Adding to the unforgettable visual experience is a mixture of iconic scenes and character dialogue displayed on the Chinese Theater along with John William’s powerful soundtrack from every movie booming undernearth the entire show. I don’t want to give away any more details. You just have to see it! Here’s a link to someone who recorded the show

  1. Meet Kylo Ren and Chewbacca

Meet these 2 iconic characters at the Star Wars Launch Bay. Are you on the Light or Dark Side? Sometimes Darth Vader is available. Visiting Chewie is always a fun experience, as is the dark side of the force. But Kylo and Vader are very intimidating. Better not wear a Republic t-shirt to their meet and greet. Stick to Empire and First Order apparel when meeting the Sith.

  1. Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away

Take a break during your busy day to watch this stage show located in front of The Chinese Theater. See many of your favorite Star Wars characters from all 10 movies take the stage! It’s really neat to see how the characters and their storylines have changed over time through the movies.

Head inside the Star Wars Launch Bay to check out all the incredible movie prop replicas, special exhibits, watch a 10 minute movie, battle it out at the Star Wars Game Center, or shop for your favorite Star Wars merchandise. Oh and let’s not forget that you can also meet Kylo Ren and Chewbacca as mentioned previously. Seriously, there is SO much to do in the Star Wars Launch Bay. Check it out!
